URL Cleaner

Removes tracking parameters from links. Everything happens in your browser — the link never leaves this device.

Use it everywhere

Bookmarklet

Drag this to your bookmarks bar. One click on any page sends that page’s address here, already cleaned.

Clean this link

Dragging is the way to install it — clicking it on this page does nothing. On mobile, copy the code and paste it into a bookmark you edit by hand.

Share from your phone

Install this page as an app (the button above, or “Add to Home screen”). On Android it then shows up in the share sheet: share a link from any app, choose URL Cleaner, and it opens here already cleaned. Once installed it also works with no connection at all.

iOS shortcut

Shortcuts can do the same on iPhone and iPad. In the Shortcuts app: new shortcut, turn on Show in Share Sheet and accept URLs, then add these actions.

  1. URL — set it to https://removetracking.intosec.nl/?u=
  2. Text — combine that URL with the encoded shortcut input
  3. Open URLs — opens the cleaned result

Anything that can build a URL works the same way: append the link, percent-encoded, to ?u=.

Address bar keyword

This site publishes an OpenSearch description, so browsers can add it as a search engine. Give it a keyword such as clean, then type clean followed by a link in the address bar. Firefox picks it up on its own; in Chrome and Edge add it under search engine settings, with https://removetracking.intosec.nl/?u=%s as the URL.

Run it from a file

Download removetracking.zip, unpack it anywhere and open index.html. The parameter list travels inside the page, so cleaning works with no server, no install and no connection at all.

The four options above are the only things that copy leaves out, because each of them needs the page to have a real web address.

The parameter list

params.json holds every parameter this tool removes, with no code around it. It is public domain, so any other tool can use it.
